America’s Boating Course, 3rd edition, is 5 chapters of new material and outstanding graphics recognized by the US Coast Guard and approved in all 50 states by the National Association of State Boating Law Administrators.
This course is hosted by the Las Vegas Sail & Power Squadron, an authorized partner of the Nevada Department of Wildlife (NDOW) and Arizona Game & Fish Department (AZGFD) to instruct boaters on Nevada and Arizona Boating Laws.
The first 4 chapters cover the required topics that all recreational boaters must know. In addition to the rules of the road, the course covers the various types of boats, required safety equipment, navigation aids, lights and sounds, anchoring, communications afloat, adverse conditions, trailering, water sports and craft safety, knots and lines. The optional 5th chapter provides an introduction to digital charters and GPS waypoint navigation. This course is REQUIRED if you were born on or after January 1, 1983 in order to legally operate a vessel of 15 horsepower or more.
